After 10 months since the SAMVA project started, significant progress has been made within the work packages. Some key deliverables have been drafted, some submitted and some are under development. The below quarterly report summarises the actions that have been carried out in the project so far. WP0 - Project Coordination: - Drafting and submission of Data Management Plan (D0.4). - Organisation and chairing of SAMVA coordination meetings between project partners and generation of minutes (18 meetings held during the second quarterly period). - Organisation and chairing of 1st SAMVA Steering Committee coordination meeting held in Eliance premises in Sabadell Airport. - Drafting of an action plan for the Advisory Board members. - Analysis of synergies between SAMVA and other ongoing activities (e.g. U-ELCOME) to extend the project impact. WP1 - Rotorcraft PinS/LLR LEDA: - Concept of the procedure drafted and shared with ENAIRE for gathering their feedback towards AESA presentation. WP2 - RNP VTOL/LLR to LEDA: - Commercial agreement formalized between Aeroports de Catalunya and Ehang in order to use the Lleida-Alguaire airport premises. - Coordination activities with AESA to present the concept of eVTOL operations to be conducted in Lleida-Alguaire airport for their operational approval. - Drafting and submitting to AESA of formal documentation to receive EH216 operational approval. - Approval and fulfillment of the hangar adaptation in Lleida-Alguaire Airport premises to be used by EHANG for the EH216 eVTOL hangar. - Initiation of the security accreditation process (PVSO) and training course to grant access to Lleida-Alguaire Airport premises to SAMVA partners. - Drafting of Lleida airport infrastructure upgrade towards eVTOL adoption deliverable (D2.1). WP3 - EHANG-216 Forward-Fit: - Forward-fit of EH216 by using Ublox ZED-F9P GNSS receiver in Ehang China premises. - Customised Ublox firmware to get the PLs based on 0.001% TMIR (target misleading information risk) parameter value. - Decision to equip inside EH216 an additional GNSS receiver (Septentrio Mosaic-X5) as part of the SAMVA Navigation Unit to act as a GNSS data logger with the aim to record GNSS Raw data measurements during the flights. - Design of the GNSS data logger adapted to be installed inside EH216. - Provision of power and GNSS antenna interfaces inside the EH216 to feed SAMVA Navigation Unit. - Provision of EH216 telemetry sample data files. WP4 - eVTOL Autonomous Flight Ops: - Drafting and submission of eVTOL Specific Requirement deliverable (D4.1) assessing all the current EH216 systems that will be used during the RNP procedure execution, and how these systems should be updated to fulfill their execution. - Coordination meetings between PildoLabs and EUSPA to align the tasks related to the RNP procedure design criteria for eVTOLs. As the first step, it is decided to assess whether the RNP 0.3 navigation specification could be flown by the EH216; then, it will be determined which performance could be reached by the eVTOL and a custom RNP criteria would be proposed. WP5 - eVTOL Specific Integrity Concept: - Coordination between Thales Alenia Space France and Ehang to select the fish-eye camera (VIVOTEK FE9380-HV) to be installed on board the eVTOL EH216 as part of the SAMVA Navigation Unit. - Drafting of an internal ICD to detail the interface of the available EH216 onboard equipment where the SAMVA Navigation Unit could connect. - Drafting of SAMVA Navigation Unit design. - Assessment ongoing about the possibility to conduct SAMVA data assessment in real-time or on post-flight basis. This will be based on the access to the eVTOL data. WP6 - Communication, Dissemination & Exploitation: - Drafting of SAMVA branding manual including project’s logo, colour palette, and font. - Update of SAMVA templates based on the branding manual. - Two press releases (Kick-off meeting, First Steering Committee meeting) - Project's website up and running (https://www.samva-project.eu/). - Project's social accounts up and running. - Drafting of Communication and Dissemination Plan (D6.1) and Exploitation Plan (D6.2). Both deliverables are still in development and will be submitted by the beginning of May 2023. This delivery delay should not affect the rest of the project activities. - Drafting of communication material for EUSPA presentation at the Amsterdam Drone Week 2023.
